April Meeting
In our April meeting, Scott Plum delves into the murky depths of stress. In today’s world, we have so many competing priorities which have been brought more into focus as result of Covid as well as the ever developing social media notifications that compete for our attention.
Stress is caused when you don’t feel in control of your life, your normal routine is disrupted, you don’t feel productive, and you have no idea when the recovery from the disruption will appear. Resilience is a choice based on being prepared, adaptable and optimistic. How can you prepare? What is holding you back from adapting? What can you control? How can you maintain an optimistic outlook?
Recovery is a sense of control over what matters, what is most important, and what are your priorities at work and home. Having a vision and reality you can see and step into will give you strength to turn your face into the wind of adversity and feel in control to achieve your goals and reach your destinations. How do you do that?
Scott Plum started his sales career at age 21 in 1987 selling real estate. He founded the Minnesota Sales Institute in 2002 to teach sales leaders and salespeople how to create collaborative and committed sales teams and individuals.
He is Professor Plum co-host of the weekly podcast “Winning at Selling Podcast” and host of the podcast “What Salespeople Need to know About Selling.” And is the author of Taking Off into The Wind: Creating Lift Out of Life.
Scott has served as president of the Professional Sales Association (PSA) from 2011-14 and the Sales and Marketing Executives (SME) from 2014-15. And vice president of the National Speakers Association (NSA) in Minnesota from 2015-17.
March Newsline
For this meeting, a very recent author, Pete Steege helped us understand our “Meaning ” and helped us learn how to identify what that meaning is for our business.
Pete stressed to us that the best marketing strategy and tactics won’t help unless you anchor them on one thing: Meaning.
We discussed in breakouts how to identify that meaning for our business, activate it, and use it to transform our prospecting and sales initiatives.
Purpose-driven marketing connects and converts like nothing else. Meaning is critical to all you do. Thanks Pete for a great Learning Hour.
We are looking forward to a great 2023 and thank you all for your support and wisdom.
